St. John’s College Drama Society is proud to present excerpts from Gregory Burke’s award-winning play ‘Black Watch’.
Switching between a pub in Fife, Scotland in 2005 to Camp Dogwood in Iraq in 2004, the play is based on interviews conducted by playwright Gregory Burke with former soldiers of the legendary Black Watch regiment who served in the Iraq War. Viewed through the eyes of those on the ground, ‘Black Watch’ reveals what it means to be part of the legendary Scottish regiment, what it means to be part of the war on terror and what it means to make the journey home again.
