College | Zororo Makamba Scholarship

St John’s College is humbled to announce that Dr James Makamba and Mrs Irene Makamba have established The Zororo Rufaro Makamba Memorial Scholarship in memory of their son, Zororo, an old boy of the class of 2008. The Scholarship is worth a very generous USD 10,000 per annum.

This scholarship will provide financial aid to a student from Form Four to Upper Six who is deemed a suitable recipient by the SJET Scholarship Committee. This student will be selected based on an application and a rigorous verification process, which will establish whether the student is worthy of such a scholarship, which seeks to reward those who have excelled in Academics, Culture and Sport.

Zororo was an outstanding Johannian and achieved great success in all his fields of endeavour, which included a range of Sports, Academics and Culture. Furthermore, Zororo fully embraced the school ethos of Integrity, Empathy and Respect.
